Egypt Prepares for GEM's Opening: Foreign Ministry Coordinates Global Reception

​In the framework of the ongoing preparations for the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates Affairs, held a coordination meeting today, Sunday. 

The meeting brought together the leadership and members of the Ministry's working group concerned with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on the first of November. 

The purpose was to discuss the Foreign Ministry's readiness for this prominent cultural event, which represents one of the most significant civilizational projects in Egypt and the world.

​Abdel Atty emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant national authorities. 

He stressed the vital role the Ministry plays in receiving leaders and high-ranking officials from various countries who will participate in the inauguration events to ensure the event is executed in a manner befitting Egypt's ancient civilization. 

He also directed Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad to intensify their efforts to promote the Grand Egyptian Museum and this historic event as one of the most prominent landmarks of human heritage, and to affirm Egypt's pioneering role in preserving human heritage and civilization.

​Moreover, FM noted that GEM represents an archaeological and touristic achievement and a civilizational message that reflects Egypt's stature on the international arena. 

He also highlighted the importance of concerted efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various state institutions to ensure the success of this historic event in a manner worthy of Egypt and its people.
