Egypt Post and Jumia signed on Tuesday a cooperation protocol to enhance the volume of e-commerce flows and maximizing its market size in Egypt.
Sherif Farouk, Chairman of Egypt Post said that the agreement aims to remove obstacles that hinder the rates of e-commerce, noting that it enhances the mutual benefit of both parties, allowing Jumia to benefit from the huge potential and public confidence in Egypt Post by providing logistical services through its branches.
The protocol will also reduce shipping costs, raise the level of services and customer confidence, as well as share of E-commerce in the marketplace.
Farouk added that the Egyptian Post is witnessing an unprecedented development at all levels, including the modernization of logistics services, transportation fleet, and distribution services by relying on the latest processing technologies and smart solutions to provide distinguished logistics services to customers at competitive prices.
On his part, Hisham Safwat, CEO of Jumia Egypt said that the Nigerian E-commerce giant seeks through this protocol to bring e-commerce closer to consumers and make shopping accessible to all Egyptians by cooperating with the Egyptian Post branches that cover all parts of the country.
Safwat pointed out that Jumia has extensive experience in the field of e-commerce services, which qualifies it to provide all services via Egyptian Post with ease.
