Egypt Participates in Int'l Tourism Exhibition, Travel & Vacation Show Canada

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities recently participated in the International Tourism Exhibition, Travel and Vacation Show held in Ottawa, Canada on April 6th and 7th. The Egyptian pavilion was inaugurated by Ambassador Ahmed Hafez and Mr. Wael Mansour, Director of the North American Unit in the Central Administration of Tourist Offices at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion.

CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Mr. Amr El-Kady, highlighted the significance of attending this exhibition as it presents a remarkable opportunity to meet with tour operators and various tourism companies to showcase the potential of Egypt as a tourist destination. The Canadian market is one of the most important tourism markets targeted by the ministry.

During the exhibition, a number of professional meetings were held with tour operators and officials of tourism companies operating in the Canadian market to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation to attract more tourists to Egypt. The developments in the tourism industry in Egypt, as well as the tourist and archaeological sites and the tourist activities that can be practiced during the visit were also discussed.

The exhibition was attended by representatives from more than 150 exhibitors from 50 countries, Canadian provinces, and local companies. The event received more than 35,000 visitors and significant media coverage.
