The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, through the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, participated in the IBTM Incentive Business Travel Meetings Expo, one of Europe’s largest and most significant events for incentive tourism and conferences.

Held in Barcelona, Spain, the expo provided a platform to highlight Egypt’s position as a leading destination for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism.

Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, underscored the importance of the event as a chance to boost Egypt’s standing among top global destinations for incentive and conference tourism. “This expo is a valuable opportunity to showcase Egypt’s diverse attractions and its exceptional capacity to host large-scale events and conferences,” El-Kady stated.

The Egyptian pavilion, a focal point of the event, was inaugurated by Mohamed Salama, Head of the Central Department of Tourism Offices at the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board. He was joined by Hind Radwan, Spanish Market Specialist at the Board’s External Offices Department; Dr. Nader El-Biblawi, Chairman of the Chamber of Travel Agencies and Tourism Companies; Ali Ghoneim, Chairman of the Chamber of Tourist Goods and Souvenirs; Ghada El-Khatib, EgyptAir’s General Manager for Spain and Portugal; and Ahmed Ali, Manager of EgyptAir’s Barcelona office.

During the exhibition, Salama conducted several high-level meetings with representatives from major international companies specializing in incentive tourism. Discussions highlighted Egypt’s capabilities in hosting world-class MICE activities, including conferences, meetings, and incentive travel programs.

The Egyptian pavilion also featured interactive presentations for visitors, offering a comprehensive overview of Egypt’s extensive resources and infrastructure for MICE tourism. The displays focused on Egypt’s unique ability to host global events, showcasing its iconic venues, exceptional service standards, and cultural diversity as key attractions for international companies and organizations.
