As part of the “Egypt on One Table” initiative organized by the National Alliance for Civil Development Work during the holy month of Ramadan, the Abou El-Enein Foundation for Social and Cultural Activity participated with its massive Ramadan banquet.
Recognized as one of the largest in Giza Governorate, the banquet accommodates approximately 20,000 meals daily, including both Iftar and Suhoor.
In addition, mobile units roam the streets to provide meals for travelers, while specialized teams deliver food directly to the homes of families unable to attend in person.
The Foundation emphasized that its participation falls under its social responsibility and its role within the National Alliance. It highlighted its commitment to all initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable families, especially during Ramadan, a month characterized by intensified feeding programs and food assistance.
Moustafa Ezzat, Director of the Foundation, explained that the Ramadan banquet operates through an integrated system involving hundreds of volunteers. Under the directives of MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Chairman of the Board, and the supervision of Mrs. Somaya Abul El-Enein, Vice-Chairman, volunteers work daily on meal preparation, banquet organization, and field distribution.
Ezzat noted that operations extend beyond the physical banquet to include mobile carts at metro stations, train stations, and highways, as well as home visits to pre-identified humanitarian cases.
Furthermore, he added that the Foundation successfully distributed nearly 350,000 meals across various regions this Ramadan. This was achieved through a structured plan based on accurate data and full coordination with the National Alliance to ensure that support reaches those in need in a manner that preserves human dignity.
Volunteers participating in the initiative highlighted the significant involvement of youth this year. Teams were divided into specialized groups for preparation, cooking, packaging, distribution, and follow-up.
They stressed that the spirit of cooperation was the primary factor in managing such a high volume of daily meals.
They concluded by stating that the “Egypt on One Table” initiative presents a true image of Egyptian society, where institutions and volunteers unite for a single goal: ensuring that goodness reaches every home and that every individual feels supported during the blessed month of Ramadan.
