Egypt and Nigeria took new steps toward deepening their bilateral relationship, with a focus on expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Egypt’s Ambassador to Nigeria Mohamed Fouad held talks with Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, to discuss mechanisms for boosting joint collaboration across key sectors. The discussions highlighted the importance of enhancing economic integration and creating new opportunities for mutual growth.

Among the proposals raised during the meeting was the potential establishment of an Egyptian-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce. The initiative is expected to serve as a platform for facilitating business partnerships, increasing trade exchange, and encouraging private sector engagement in both countries.

The two sides also emphasized the importance of strengthening agricultural cooperation, with a view to promoting joint investment projects that would benefit both nations. Agriculture was identified as a strategic sector with significant potential for sustainable development and food security.

On her part, Minister Ojukwu expressed strong appreciation for the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and Nigeria, particularly in the field of capacity building. She commended the training programs provided by Egypt to Nigerian professionals through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, noting their positive impact on skills development and institutional support.
