Egypt Mourns Death of Moroccan Child “Rayan"

Egypt mourned the death of Moroccan child “Rayan", who left our world after falling into 30 meters well for five days.

"Egypt expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the Kingdom of Morocco, and to the families of the child Rayan, who passed away Saturday evening, despite the tireless efforts of the Moroccan authorities in attempts to save him," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Moreover, Egypt stressed full support with Morocco in this painful incident, which reflected an uninterrupted global human solidarity over the past days, praying to Allah to grant his parents patience and strength, the statement added.

Rescue teams managed to reach and bring the child out of the well. Then, he was taken quickly to a hospital by helicopter but the authorities announced his death minutes later.

"Following the tragic incident which claimed the life of the child Rayan Aourram, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God preserve him, had a telephone call with Mr. Khaled Aourram and Mrs. Ouassima Kharchich, parents of the deceased who died after he fell into a well," the Moroccan royal family said in a statement.

"In these painful circumstances, His Majesty the King, may God assist Him, expressed His deepest condolences and His sincere feelings of compassion to all the members of the family of the deceased in this painful ordeal, the pine will being unstoppable, praying the Almighty to have him in His holy mercy and accept him in His vast paradise, and to grant patience and comfort to his family who lost their child."
