Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Badr Abdel Atty, held a phone call with Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, as part of efforts to enhance bilateral relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Malawi.

Abdel Atty expressed Egypt’s pride in its historic and fraternal ties with Malawi and emphasized the commitment to advancing bilateral relations in various fields. These include expanding capacity-building programs offered by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, boosting Egyptian investments in Malawi to support development plans, and enhancing trade exchange between the two countries.

In response, Tembo praised the historic relations between the two nations and expressed Malawi’s keen interest in deepening cooperation with Egypt across all sectors.

She conveyed her eagerness to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity and to benefit from Egyptian expertise in development and capacity-building.

The two sides agreed to maintain coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of mutual interest and affirmed their commitment to mutual support for each other’s candidacies in regional and international organizations.
