Egypt Makes Final Preparations for World Population, Health Conference

Egypt's Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, reviewed the final preparations for the World Conference on Population, Health, and Development, which is scheduled to take place in Cairo from September 5-8.

This came during a meeting that was held in the presence of ministry leaders, directors of health affairs directorates from all governorates, and companies and parties involved in the conference organization.

Abdel Ghaffar announced that 8,000 people had registered on the conference website to attend. The minister oversaw all conference organizing committees' final preparations and reviewed detailed presentations on the executive committee for the conference and its eight subcommittees.

These subcommittees include committees for foreign relations and international organizations, exhibition, finance and administration, medical insurance, media and community outreach, internal relations, sponsorships and marketing, public relations, and ceremonies and events.

The preparations for launching the National Population Strategy and the General Health Strategy in Egypt were also discussed during the meeting, and the Ministry of Health expressed confidence in its ability to implement the strategies.

The conference agenda and scientific programs were also discussed, including 65 dialogue sessions involving 270 Egyptian and foreign speakers.

The Minister also ensured that all logistics were in place to receive delegations from abroad, including ministers, ambassadors, decision-makers, international organizations, and civil society organizations.
