Egypt on Wednesday launched the eighth edition of the Egypt International Yacht and Boat Show at the Cairo International Convention Centre (CICC), with wide participation from local and international companies operating in the marine tourism and boating sectors.

The four-day event, running through February 8, brings together yacht manufacturers, marine equipment suppliers, and service providers, showcasing a range of yachts, boats, navigation systems, marine engines, and water sports equipment.

Speaking at the opening, Captain Mahmoud El-Qadi, Managing Director of Cadmar Maritime Agency, said the exhibition aims to support the growth of yacht tourism in Egypt and enhance the country’s position as a regional hub for maritime leisure. He noted that the show offers integrated services for yacht owners and buyers, including sales, maintenance, insurance, financing, and logistical support.

According to organizers, the current edition features 128 exhibitors representing more than 140 Egyptian and international brands, marking an increase in participation compared to previous years.

The exhibition also serves as a platform for dialogue between government officials and industry representatives on ways to develop the marine tourism sector, particularly in light of Egypt’s expanding port infrastructure and its strategic location along the Mediterranean and Red Sea.

Officials say recent measures to encourage yacht tourism include infrastructure upgrades, digital facilitation of yacht procedures, and incentives such as temporary fee reductions for small yachts transiting the Suez Canal.

The Egypt International Yacht and Boat Show has become an annual event, reflecting growing interest in the sector and the government’s broader strategy to diversify tourism offerings.
