Egypt has dispatched its 122nd humanitarian aid convoy to the Gaza Strip, continuing its efforts to alleviate the worsening humanitarian conditions amid severe winter weather affecting Gaza, Rafah, and Egypt’s North Sinai Governorate.

The convoy, overseen by the Egyptian Red Crescent, began moving through the Al-Awja and Kerem Shalom crossings, prioritizing the delivery of urgent relief supplies as harsh weather conditions and a powerful low-pressure system intensify hardships for displaced Palestinians.

Winter relief items topped the aid shipments, with trucks carrying warm clothing, blankets, heavy covers, and emergency shelter tents to meet immediate needs for protection against cold temperatures and heavy rainfall. The Egyptian Red Crescent emphasized the urgency of delivering winter supplies as thousands of families continue to live in makeshift shelters.

In addition to winter assistance, the convoy includes thousands of tons of essential food supplies, such as flour, wheat, rice, and dry food items. Shipments also contain petroleum derivatives required to operate electricity generators serving hospitals, bakeries, and other vital facilities across the Gaza Strip.

Aid deliveries have been significantly intensified over the past two days, with approximately 100,000 pieces of winter clothing and nearly 85,000 shelter tents entering Gaza, alongside large quantities of blankets and covers. The increased flow of assistance comes as deteriorating weather conditions further exacerbate the suffering of displaced civilians, particularly those living in tents.

Egypt has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining humanitarian support for Gaza, coordinating closely with international partners and relief organizations to ensure the continued entry of aid amid mounting humanitarian needs.
