A phone call was held today, Saturday, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister of the sisterly State of Kuwait, to consult on regional developments and coordinate efforts to reduce escalation.
The two ministers exchanged views on the latest updates regarding the negotiation process between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the importance of holding a second round of talks to solidify a ceasefire, ensure sustainable calm, and end the war to spare the region from dangerous repercussions.
In this context, Minister Abdelatty stressed the necessity of taking the security concerns of the sisterly Gulf states into account.
During the call, Minister Abdelatty was also keen to check on the situation in Kuwait following the attack that targeted two sites at the northern land border centers yesterday using drones.
He renewed Egypt's condemnation of this sinful aggression, affirming Egypt's full solidarity with the government and people of Kuwait and all sisterly Gulf states in facing any attempts to destabilize their security and stability.
Furthermore, he emphasized Egypt's support for all measures and procedures taken by the Kuwaiti authorities to protect their borders and safeguard their assets.
