Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, and Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, held phone talks on Tuesday to discuss ongoing efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and the reliance on diplomacy to restore security and stability.

During the call, the two ministers renewed their condemnation of Iranian aggressions against Jordan and sisterly Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

Moreover, they emphasized absolute solidarity in safeguarding Arab national security and underscored their commitment to activating joint Arab action to confront shared economic and political challenges.

Furthermore, both ministers stressed the necessity of halting Iranian interference in Arab nations, asserting that respect for international law, state sovereignty, and the principle of non-interference are fundamental prerequisites for a secure and stable future in the region.

The discussions also touched upon preparations for the upcoming ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, scheduled for later this month.

Both parties highlighted the session's importance in launching a unified Arab stance against prevailing security and political threats and the dangerous escalation currently witnessed across the region.

Regarding the situation in Lebanon, the ministers reaffirmed their support for Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty over its entire territory, backing the Lebanese government’s decision to restrict the possession of weapons to the state. Furthermore, Abdelatty and Safadi condemned Israel's aggression against Lebanon and its expansionist policies in the region.

The two officials also emphasized that international focus on the conflict with Iran must not come at the expense of efforts to end the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

Moreover, they stressed the importance of halting illegal Israeli measures in the West Bank, which undermine prospects for a just peace. The ministers renewed their condemnation of Israeli settler attacks against the Palestinian people, labeling them a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that requires collective international intervention.

Additionally, the ministers condemned Israel’s continued violations of the right to worship for Muslims and Christians in the occupied Palestinian territories, and the prevention of worshippers from practicing their religious rites in their holy sites.
