Egypt, Italy Reaffirm Strong Ties, Discuss Regional Developments

Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of the EU-Egypt Association Council meeting, where the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and discussed recent regional developments.

According to a statement, the ministers reviewed the longstanding relationship between Egypt and Italy and underscored the importance of expanding cooperation across a range of sectors, reflecting the strategic nature of ties between the two Mediterranean nations.

The talks focused on enhancing coordination on issues of mutual interest and advancing joint efforts in areas including political dialogue, economic cooperation and regional stability.

Abdelatty and Tajani also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East following the recent agreement reached between the United States and Iran.

The two ministers discussed the implications of the agreement for regional security and stability, as well as ongoing efforts to address challenges facing the region.

The EU-Egypt Association Council session brought together senior Egyptian and European officials to review progress in bilateral relations and explore avenues for deeper cooperation under the framework of the Egypt-European Union strategic partnership.
