The Egyptian Ministry of Health is currently working on launching a new electronic application to help citizens register their data to get Covid-19 vaccines, in addition to granting them an electronic vaccination certificate, according to what was revealed by Cabinet spokesman Nader Saad.

The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Immigration will ratify the document in order to remove obstacles for citizens traveling overseas.

This comes in parallel with global demand for the issuance of a vaccine passport.

Greece was the first country in the European Union to announce the issuance of a vaccine passport policy in an attempt to take advantage of the summer tourist season.

Last week, the European Parliament agreed with the European Commission on proposals to have a certificate system for citizens’ vaccination status operational by mid-summer.
