The Arab Republic of Egypt extends its deepest condolences to the Swiss Confederation following the tragic fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort bar that claimed around 40 lives and injured over 115 others during New Year's celebrations.

In a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid expressed profound sorrow for the victims, many of whom were young revelers trapped in the blaze at Le Constellation bar. "Egypt stands in solidarity with the Swiss people during this heartbreaking moment, mourning the immense loss of life in what has been described as one of the country's worst disasters," the statement read.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi conveyed personal condolences to Swiss President Guy Parmelin, offering prayers for the swift recovery of the injured and support for grieving families. Egyptian authorities highlighted the incident's gravity, caused preliminarily by sparklers igniting flammable materials, and reiterated commitment to global safety cooperation.

The statement concluded with Egypt's assurance of full support, as rescue efforts continue amid victim identification challenges in the Alpine resort.
