Minister Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed Egypt’s interest in supporting close historical relations with the brothers in South Sudan, adding that the Egyptian government, represented by many agencies and ministries, is already implementing development projects in South Sudan, in addition to the grants and aid provided by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership from For the development of South Sudan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed the progress of implementing the projects currently being established, as well as draft agreements and memorandums of understanding in various fields that are being prepared for signing as soon as possible.
Shukry said: During the coming period, a number of major development projects will be opened, such as the Alexandria University branch in the city of Tonj, the technical school in the city of Warur, in addition to the major power station in the city of Rumbek.
This came during the meeting held by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to follow up on efforts to activate cooperation between Egypt and South Sudan.
At the beginning of the meeting, Madbouly stressed Egypt's keenness to support cooperation with South Sudan through the implementation of joint cooperation projects, in addition to its keenness to support the efforts of Egyptian companies to begin implementing joint projects between the two sides.
