Egypt, Iraq, Jordan Discuss Tripartite Co-op in New York

The foreign ministers of Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan discussed ways to activate cooperation between the three countries in several economic and political areas.

The three foreign ministers met on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The three sides stressed the need to complete joint projects and agreed to propose new projects related to electrical interconnection, renewable energy, communications, trade, industry, transportation, health, and construction.

The ministers also discussed the tripartite cooperation mechanism and the results of the recent tripartite summit held in Baghdad in June 2021.

The ministers also tackled the situation in the region, emphasizing the importance of achieving security and stability.

The three parties addressed the Palestinian issue and the efforts aimed at finding a solution to the Syrian crisis, especially through the Arab Contact Group to end the suffering of the Syrian people.

The foreign ministers agreed to continue their coordination to prepare for the upcoming tripartite summit scheduled to be held in Cairo.
