On Tuesday, Egypt renewed its invitation to King Charles III for COP 27 which would be held next month in Sharm El Sheikh, AFP reported.
Senior Diplomat Mohamed Nasr said: "From our point of view in relation to his majesty King Charles, it’s an open invitation."
Nast told journalists in a briefing: "He has been a very strong advocate for climate action and a role model," adding: "We still hope that he can make it."
The diplomate highlighted that more than 90 heads of state and government confirmed their presence at the summit, which will be concerned with accelerating cuts in carbon emissions and providing climate finance for developing countries.
Early this month, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III won't attend the summit as former Prime Minister Liz Truss objected his participation.
The UK hosted the last edition of the summit, COP26 UN climate conference, in Glasgow, which tackled the issues of deforestation and methane emissions.
