The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced the signing of a final investment decision agreement with Arcius Global to develop the Harmattan gas field in the Mediterranean Sea.
The agreement marks a key step toward boosting Egypt’s natural gas production and strengthening its position as a regional energy hub. The development of the Harmattan field is expected to enhance supply, attract further foreign investment, and support the country’s long-term energy strategy.
Officials said the deal reflects growing confidence in Egypt’s energy sector and its potential for offshore gas exploration, particularly in the Mediterranean basin.
The move comes as Egypt continues to expand partnerships with international energy companies to accelerate exploration and production activities, amid rising global demand and ongoing efforts to secure energy resources.
