Egypt and Indonesia agreed on the importance of exerting efforts to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
This came during the seventh round of political consultations between Egypt and Indonesia, which was held in Jakarta.
The Egyptian side was chaired by Ayman Kamel, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, while the Indonesian side was chaired by Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a statment, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this round of consultations comes within the framework of ongoing preparations for joint supreme committee between both countries, in the near future to enhance joint cooperation in all fields and to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples and countries.
Moreover, the two sides also agreed to enhance Indonesian investments in light of the incentives offered by the Suez Canal economic zone, and to benefit from the free trade agreements that Egypt enjoys with several partners around the world.
Furthermore, both senior officials reviewed the overall Egyptian-Indonesian bilateral relations in the political, economic, trade, cultural, educational and research fields.
