Egypt's President Abdel Fattah ElSisi received on Sunday Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi at El-Ittihadiya palace.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the two leaders held talks during which they affirmed the distinction of the joint historical relations between the two friendly countries, and the mutual commitment to reach broader horizons in various fields, especially through the intensification of mutual visits between senior officials from the two countries.
Indian PM's visit to Egypt follows the state visit of President Sisi to New Delhi last January, and coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and India.
Following the talks, the two leaders signed a joint declaration to upgrade relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership, reflecting the longstanding common cultural heritage between Egypt and India at the official and popular levels, in addition to the presence of mutual will between the two countries to advance bilateral relations.
