The Egyptian industry seeks to increase exports in various sectors to African countries, led by Sudan, as the first destination that export councils seek to direct their products to their markets.

Among the reasons that encouraged the Egyptian side to expand exports to Sudan was the cross-border free trade agreement linking Egypt with African countries.

Sudan is seeking to import a lot of Egyptian products in various sectors, including more than 18 African markets looking for the Egyptian product.

There are several industrial sectors in Africa, most notably the chemical and food industries, followed by electrical, leather, and pharmaceuticals.

The volume of Egyptian chemical products exported to the African market reached about $750 million in 2020, and the target is to develop the sector's exports to Africa by 15-22%.
