The technical meeting for the match between Egypt and Kenya in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, held on Wednesday morning at Moi International Sports Centre, resulted in the national team wearing a white shirt, black shorts, and white socks and the goalkeeper in a blue outfit.

The Kenyan team meanwhile will wear a red outfit, with their goalkeeper in black.

The meeting was attended by Mohamed Barakat, director of the national team, along with Mina Sameh, the team’s administrator, and Dr. Muhammad Abul Ola, the team’s doctor.

Pharaohs coach Hossam El-Badri, said that they aim to get at least a draw to secure their spot in the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled in Cameroon in 2022.

Egypt plays in Group G alongside Kenya, Comoros and Togo. The Pharaohs and Comoros are leading the group with 8 points each, while Kenya comes third with 3 points before Togo who gained only one point from four games.

Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi will host the game on Thursday at 6:00 PM (Cairo Time).

Egypt had a frustrating start to the qualifiers with two consecutive draws with Kenya at home and against Comoros in Moroni. However, the Egyptians bounced back against Togo and achieved two victories against Togo to take a huge step towards securing one of the two tickets to the prestigious competition.

Egypt have not won the Nations Cup since clinching the last of their record seven titles in 2010. They reached the final in 2017, only to surrender their lead and lose 2-1 to champions Cameroon.
