European diplomat Angelina Eichhorst has praised Egypt’s central role in advancing ceasefire negotiations and broader peace efforts in the Gaza Strip, underscoring Cairo’s continued diplomatic leadership alongside key regional partners.
In a statement posted on the Bluesky platform on Tuesday, Eichhorst highlighted that Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt are playing a “crucial role in bridging gaps, crafting common ground, and working tirelessly toward a peaceful resolution.”
She emphasized that Egypt was “instrumental” in securing the recent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, noting that Cairo remains actively engaged in implementing the Gaza peace plan agreed upon in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Egypt has long established itself as a key regional mediator, maintaining open channels with all parties involved in the conflict. Its diplomatic efforts have been vital in brokering ceasefires, facilitating negotiations, and supporting humanitarian coordination in Gaza.
Eichhorst’s remarks reflect increasing international recognition of Egypt’s strategic role in de-escalation efforts, as regional and global stakeholders intensify calls for a sustainable political solution and lasting stability in the region.
