Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis reaffirmed the strength of bilateral ties and their commitment to deepening cooperation during a phone call on Tuesday, as the two countries continued consultations on regional developments and strategic issues of mutual interest.
The call was part of ongoing coordination between Cairo and Athens aimed at advancing relations following the elevation of ties to a strategic partnership.
According to a statement, the two ministers welcomed the steady progress achieved in Egyptian-Greek relations in recent years and underscored their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation across a range of sectors.
The discussions also focused on key regional developments, including ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, as well as the latest developments in Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Both ministers exchanged views on regional challenges and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and coordination to support efforts aimed at preserving security and stability in the region.
Egypt and Greece have significantly expanded their cooperation in recent years, particularly in the fields of energy, maritime affairs, economic development and regional security, with both countries positioning their partnership as a pillar of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The two sides agreed to maintain close consultations and coordination within the framework of their strategic partnership and to continue working together on issues of common concern at the regional and international levels.
