The Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry had a meeting with his Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abu Zied said that the meeting asserted the depth of the ties between Egypt and Greece, in addition to the historical relationships between the two countries due to their geographic location.
Both ministries underscored the importance of developing the bilateral ties between Egypt and Greece to reflect the depth of their strategic partnership.

Abu Zied revealed that both officials discussed strengthening the economic, trade, and investment relationships, in addition to developing mutual cooperation in tourism, agriculture, green transformation, and sustainability.
They also underlined the continuation of their cooperation and coordination in the field of energy and gas.
Shoukry praised the exchange of visits between the officials of both countries and the importance of mutual agreements in various fields of agriculture and manpower.
On his side, the Greek minister praised the strength of Egyptian-Greek ties and their progress.
He also added that Greece is looking forward to achieving more progress in enhancing its ties with Egypt, thanking Egypt for sending jets to help in fighting the wildfires in Greece.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson highlighted that both officials also discussed various common-interest regional issues like the situation in Libya, Palestine, Sudan, and Syria.
Moreover, they talked about illegal immigration and fighting against terrorism.
