Egypt, Greece & Cyprus Reaffirm Commitment to Regional Peace, Sovereignty

Foreign Minister (FM) Dr. Badr Abdelatty affirmed that the relations between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece are built on a solid foundation of shared principles and values, most notably respect for international law, the purposes and principles of the United Nations, the support of regional and international peace and security, and respect for state sovereignty.

​During a joint press conference with his Cypriot and Greek counterparts, FM explained that this tripartite meeting represents a significant milestone in the cooperation between the three nations, serving as a successful model of partnership based on mutual interests and shared visions.

​Moreover, Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's commitment to maintaining close coordination and consultation with Greece and Cyprus within the framework of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the European Union.

He also noted that this cooperation contributes to bolstering security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

​Furthermore, he added that this trilateral cooperation has proven its success through a comprehensive and integrated framework, thanks to the direct directives from the leaders of the three countries to strengthen their ties. 

Abdelatty also emphasized that this partnership embodies the depth of their relations and translates political will into practical steps.

​Moreover, FM pointed out that trilateral cooperation has succeeded in opening broad horizons in several vital sectors, foremost among them the energy sector, which enhances common interests and serves the development and stability goals of the region's countries.
