Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, France, Emirates Initiate Joint Defense Exercise

General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense, Minister of Defense of Greece and representatives of the Cypriot, French and Emirati ministries of defense witnessed the main phase of the Egyptian, Greek and Cypriot joint defense simulation (Medusa-10) in the Mediterranean Region on Saturday.

The main phase of the training was attended by: Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces in addition to the heads of the main sectors of the Egyptian armed forces, whose activities lasted for several days with the participation of the naval and air forces, and the Egyptian, Greek, Cypriot, French and Emirati special forces.

The main stage began with a detailed presentation on board the helicopter carrier "Anwar Sadat", which includes a presentation of the activities that were implemented in the various training stages, in addition to showing the timeline for the implementation of activities,

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the attendees witnessed the implementation of a number of training activities for the countries participating in the training, which included the implementation of air bombing against a number of enemy targets on the coast by means of multi-tasking aircraft, and the implementation of artillery firing for naval units with various calibers against atypical targets that showed the extent of the accuracy of the forces.

The activities also included the implementation of the training of the right to visit and the inspection of a suspected ship, the implementation of the naval special forces, a number of activities, such as opening loopholes, securing the beach head and raiding a coastal target that showed the ability to work together efficiently and competently,

followed by the implementation of an amphibious operation to control vital targets by means of landing. Carried on board the helicopter carrier, as well as attack helicopters to provide intense fire support to secure the approach passage for the landing media.

Activities were concluded with the implementation of the formation of an air maritime parade with the participation of a number of marine units and multi-mission aircraft of various models from the participating countries to greet the attendees.
