Greek Foreign Minister (FM) Nikos Dendias met with Egyptian Ambassador to Athens Omar Amer.
During the meeting, the importance of strategic relations between Egypt and Greece was emphasized, especially in light of the tangible development witnessed in various fields.
They also agreed on the importance of intensifying efforts to expand the scope of the strategic partnership between the two countries politically, economically and commercially, and to explore new prospects for cooperation, especially in the field of energy, gas and electrical interconnection projects that will provide an opportunity for Egypt to transfer energy to European countries via Greece.
The meeting also dealt with international and regional political developments, especially in the eastern Mediterranean region as well as the Middle East.
Moreover, they highlight the importance role played by Egypt and Greece to support regional security and stability, as well as the importance of continuing joint coordination to settle disputes by peaceful means.
