The sixth edition of Cairo Water Week (CWW) will be held in October, in order to put water at the heart of climate action, according to Egypt's government.
Egyptian Minister of Irrigation Hani Sewilam indicated that his government will convene CWW as a preparatory event before the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), running from 30 November to 12 December in Dubai.
Sewilam noted that Egypt is closely working with the United Arab Emirates, the chair of the upcoming UN climate conference, to continue the endeavors of putting water at the heart of climate action
The minister made his remarks during his participation in the Development Partners Meeting, held under the theme: “Action on Water Adaptation for Sustainability”.
