Egypt-Ghana Trade Volume Climbs 36%

The Egyptian Ministry of Commerce and Industry said on Sunday that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Ghana rose by 36 percent last year.

The volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached $ 101.2 million in 2018 compared to $ 74.4 million a year earlier.

The Egyptian exports to the Ghanaian market witnessed an outstanding expansion of 43 percent, amounting to $ 90.6 million, compared with 63.3 $ million as of the year 2017.

In 2018, Egypt's imports from Ghana dropped by 4.7 percent to record $ 10.5 million, compared with $ 11 million a year earlier.

The ministry indicated that the Ghanaian side welcomed the Egyptian offer to supply pharmaceuticals as part of the foreign trade offices' efforts to develop exports.

Meanwhile, the head of the commercial office in Accra Mohamed Ismail met with the Deputy Minister of Health Adams Alexander to discuss possible opportunities in this regard.
