Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty received a phone call on Wednesday from German National Security Adviser Gunter Sautter to discuss bilateral ties and rapidly evolving regional developments, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said.
Abdelatty praised relations between Egypt and Germany and underscored both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade sectors, according to the ministry statement.
The two officials also discussed escalating tensions in the region, with Abdelatty outlining Egypt’s efforts to contain the crises and prevent further escalation.
He stressed the importance of continuing negotiations between the United States and Iran, saying dialogue and diplomatic solutions remained the only viable path for addressing ongoing concerns.
In turn, Sautter hailed Egypt’s role in supporting regional security and stability, particularly its efforts to contain tensions, and expressed Berlin’s interest in strengthening coordination and consultation with Cairo, the statement added.
