Egypt-GCC Trade Grows by 40% to $7 Billion- CAPMAS

The value of trade between Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries increased by 39.75% during the first 4 months of 2022 to record about $7,094 billion compared to $5,078 billion, year-on-year.

The value of trade between Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries increased by 44.2% in April to reach about $1,999 billion, compared to $1.387 billion in April 2021.

According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) the value of the trade balance deficit between Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council increased to about $3.329 billion during the period from “January-April 2022,” compared to $2.159 billion during the same period in 2021, a growth of 54.2%.

The GCC accounted for 9.9% of Egypt's total exports, as well as 15.9% of Egyptian imports until April.

Saudi Arabia accounts for 51.8% of Egypt's trade with the GCC, while, the value of trade between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates rose to about $1.61 billion during the first 4 months of 2022.

Qatar occupies the sixth place in the value of trade between Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, at a rate of 0.5% of it during the first 4 months of 2022, as the value of trade between Egypt and Qatar grew by 256.4% to reach $39,242 million.
