Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, announced that about 60% of the housing units to which natural gas has been connected over the past 42 years have been achieved during the last eight years alone, with about 8.3 million housing units out of more than 14 million housing units benefiting from natural gas.
He added that the development in the rates of natural gas delivery to homes serves more than 60 million citizens in these units, and provides about 250 million gas cylinders annually.
The minister revealed that natural gas has been delivered to homes for about 2.3 million housing units in 20 governorates in cooperation with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, in addition to supporting the company's digital transformation projects to implement the ERP system, support the restructuring of the gas market and the establishment of the market's regulatory body.
