Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, stressed the importance of Egypt's support to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in achieving its goals.
During a press conference for the (FECF) held in Cairo, Eng. Tarek El Molla explained that the natural gas industry is important and vital as it is the transitional fuel in the current stage until other energy sources achieve their goals and can meet the needs of the world.
The minister pointed out that natural gas represents 23% of the volume of global energy supplies and that it will reach about 26% in 2050, according to the technical studies that have been prepared in this regard.
Eng. El Molla added that the Egyptian gas industry system, for which a clear strategy was developed in 2016, achieved its goals and returned Egypt to its position as a natural gas exporter after it suffered from a period of instability that made it to import gas for a while.
