Egypt and France held the first round of a strategic dialogue on Monday, with Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty highlighting deepening ties and calling for expanded cooperation across multiple sectors.
Abdelatty met Martin Briens, secretary-general of France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in talks aimed at strengthening the bilateral partnership.
He said Egypt was keen to advance cooperation with France in various fields, describing the relationship as a strategic partnership.
The discussions also covered developments in the Middle East, with Abdelatty outlining Egypt’s efforts to support negotiations between the United States and Iran.
He affirmed the need for coordinated regional and international action to de-escalate tensions and bring an end to the conflict, without elaborating.
