The leaders of Egypt, France, and Jordan held a joint phone call today with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss urgent efforts to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The call took place on the sidelines of the trilateral summit hosted in Cairo on April 7, 2025.
According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, the three leaders stressed to President Trump the critical need to reach an immediate ceasefire, ensure full humanitarian access to Gaza, and secure the immediate release of all hostages and detainees.
The joint initiative reflects growing international pressure to end the ongoing conflict and address the deepening humanitarian crisis in the region.
