Units of the Egyptian and French navies carried out a joint military drill in the Red Sea.

The military exercise is part of the Armed Forces' plan to conduct joint drills with neighboring and friendly countries. It also comes within the framework of military cooperation between Egypt and France.

The drill involved the use of modern methods to encounter threats to maritime security, fight terrorism and safeguard vital targets against non-traditional security threats.

Earlier in February, Egypt and France launched the "Cleopatra 2018" joint naval exercise.
