The joint Egyptian-French naval exercise "Cleopatra 2025" has concluded after several days of activities within French territorial waters.
The exercise involved a number of naval units and special forces elements from both the Egyptian and French navies, conducted as part of the Armed Forces' joint training plan with friendly and allied nations to bolster military cooperation and enhance maritime security in the region.
The training included various theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations, featuring tactical live-fire drills and vertical assault operations via helicopter to storm buildings and confined spaces.
These activities showcased the high level of professionalism achieved by the participating forces.
Training also covered countering non-traditional threats, conducting practical drills for cross-deck helicopter operations, and underway replenishment (refueling at sea).
Additionally, the forces practiced visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) procedures on suspect vessels and carried out live-ammunition artillery fire to destroy hostile surface targets.
The exercise also featured several complex sailing formations, demonstrating the high level of coordination and the ability of the participating units to maneuver with precision and speed.
The main phase of the exercise was attended by Rear Admiral Mahmoud Adel Fawzy, Commander of the Egyptian Navy, and Vice Admiral Christophe Lucas, Commander of the French Mediterranean and Black Sea Fleet, along with several high-ranking commanders from both the Egyptian and French navies.
