Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the government has decided to extend shop closing hours to 11 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. until the end of April, citing the temporary halt in the war and lower oil prices.
Speaking at the government’s weekly press conference following the cabinet meeting, Madbouly said tourist establishments will remain exempt from the decision.
The announcement was made in the presence of Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi, Minister of State for Information Diaa Rashwan, and Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom.
