Minister: Egypt Aims to Achieve Growth Rate of 5.5%, Primary Surplus of 2%

 Dr. Maged George, Chairman of the Export Council for Medical Industries and Medicines, announced that the sector’s exports recorded $791 million in the period from January to October 2022, compared to $542 million in the same period last year, an increase of 46%.

Dr. George said in a statement today that cosmetics exports recorded a significant jump, reaching levels of $508 million during the first 10 months of 2022, compared to $233 million, an increase of 118%, pointing out that pharmaceutical exports amounted to $196 million in the period from January to January. October 2022 for $228 million.

He pointed out that exports of medical industries increased by 6.1% during the period from January to October 2022, to record $87 million, compared to $82 million in the same period last year.
