Egypt Exempts Gaza's Students from Tuition Fees This Year

The Higher Council of Universities has decided over its periodic meeting to exempt students who come from the  Gaza Strip to go to state universities from tuition fees.

The council announced offering all forms of educational and research support for the Palestinian side along with offerings facilitations to the Palestinian students in the Egyptian students.

The council also decided to exempt the students who come from Gaza from the second premium of the tuition fees for the standing university year and aiding the university institutions in the Strip with their needs of professorate and suitable furnishings.

On the Other Hand, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research affirmed that his ministry responded to the needs of society in the shadow of the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) and rising readiness over the period of final exams of the university year.

The meeting witnessed the signing of the executive protocol of educational satellites between the Egyptian Space Agency (ESA) chaired by Dr. Mohamed Al Quosy and Presidents of Assuit, Sohag, South of the Valley, and Aswan Universities.

The protocol aims at offering a satellite by the ESA to be the nucleus to the technology of satellites in faculties of engineering in those universities.

However, Mohamed Abul Enein, Deputy-Chairman of the House of Representatives (HoR), said that Egypt stirs the Palestinian cause at the world level.

He congratulated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on activating the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip which was praised by most of the countries across the globe, including the European Union (EU) which appreciated Egypt’s role in that matter.

Abul Enein added over an intervention with media anchor Ahmed Mussa, presenter of “On My Responsibility” program aired on Sada El-Balad satellite channel, that the Palestinian cause was strongly stirred following the Egyptian move towards that cause.

He praised the resilience of the Palestinian people.

He depicted that as an honorable matter for all.

Abul Enein affirmed that Egypt has a pivotal role in the region, especially at the Palestinian cause.

The Deputy-Chairman of the HoR assured that the Palestinian cause is the most important issue in the world at present time after the Egyptian move.

He went on to say that what happened in Gaza returns the Palestinian cause as the pivotal issue in the world.
