Egypt Provides Electricity to Reclaim 2.2 million Acres in New Delta Project

At a cost of one billion pounds, funded by the strategic projects of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company began implementing a plan to secure the electrical supply for the reclamation project of the 2 million 200 thousand acres for agriculture in the cities of Hammam and Rashid, as part of the state’s plan to expand agricultural spaces in the New Delta.

An official source at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy revealed that the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company is racing against time to complete the work of securing electrical nutrition for the reclamation project of 2 million and 200 thousand acres of agricultural land in the New Delta, as it is one of the most important national projects of the state.

The source explained that securing the electrical supply in the new delta aims to establish 16 new power transformer stations, 8 of which are 220 kilovolts, and the rest 66 kilovolts, in the areas of Hammam and Rashid.
