Head of EFB: 25 Mln Citizens in 27 Governorates Benefit from Services

The CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank (EFB), Mohsen Sarhan, said that the civil sector is a lively and strong sector and is determined to do everything necessary to achieve its mission.

He pointed out that there are tens of thousands of associations spread across Egypt that do their best to serve citizens.

In his speech at the first conference of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action (NACDA), in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, he added that, during the past year, the NACDA provided services to more than 25 million citizens in 3,000 Egyptian villages in 27 governorates, on the issue of food security.

Sarhan revealed that aid was handed over according to a scientifically disciplined plan that is strictly consistent with the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the second goal, which is the eradication of hunger.

He affirmed that the NACDA

provided 60,000 tons of food for 24 million citizens, and there is also a focus on families who are unable to work, and who find it difficult for them to work, such as women who support several children under five years, the elderly, and those with some chronic diseases. make it difficult for them to work.

Sarhan stressed the intensification of work on all axes, to reach 1.5 million citizens per month to ensure social protection, and 25 million citizens seasonally this year, in addition to working to improve the efficiency of services.
