Egypt delivered a medical grant of 10 fully equipped dialysis machines to Chad, reinforcing Cairo’s commitment to supporting the country’s healthcare sector and broader development efforts.

The equipment,  accompanied by 10 specialized hospital beds designed for dialysis use — was officially handed over by Ambassador Tarek Youssef, Egypt’s envoy to Chad, to Dr. Abdelmadjid Abderahim, Chad’s Minister of Public Health and Prevention.

The donation, provided by Egypt’s Ministry of Health to its Chadian counterpart, aims to strengthen treatment capacity for patients suffering from kidney failure, particularly at public medical facilities facing growing demand.

During the handover ceremony, Ambassador Youssef reaffirmed Egypt’s dedication to supporting Chad’s development path, describing the initiative as a reflection of the strong bilateral relations and the spirit of fraternity between the leaderships of both nations.

He emphasized Cairo’s willingness to expand cooperation in sectors that directly serve the interests of the two peoples.

For his part, the Chadian health minister expressed gratitude on behalf of the country’s highest authorities, thanking the Egyptian government for what he described as a humanitarian initiative that would help alleviate the suffering of kidney patients nationwide.

He noted that the delivery was accompanied by a specialized training program for local medical staff responsible for operating the equipment, ensuring proper use and sustainable performance.

Dr. Ibrahim Hamad, Director General of the Central Hospital in N'Djamena, welcomed the support, saying the advanced equipment would enhance both the hospital’s technical capacity and its ability to accommodate more patients requiring dialysis treatment.

The grant marks another step in Egypt’s expanding health diplomacy across Africa, positioning Cairo as an active partner in strengthening medical infrastructure and improving access to essential healthcare services on the continent.
