Egypt, Djibouti Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held a meeting with the Speaker of the Djiboutian Parliament Dalita Mohamed Dalita, on Wednesday, during his visit to Cairo. The discussion focused on the robust bilateral relations between the two nations.

Minister Abdelatty commended the longstanding connections between Egypt and Djibouti, underscoring the necessity of building upon recent initiatives aimed at improving cooperation in various fields. He expressed a strong political commitment to further enhance relations at all levels.

Additionally, the minister emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation frameworks and sharing expertise in parliamentary affairs. This includes the formation of Egypt-Djibouti friendship committees within the senates of both countries and the activation of existing committees in their respective parliaments. He highlighted the significance of maintaining a consistent exchange of parliamentary visits to fortify legislative ties.

The two parties also shared perspectives on several regional matters of common concern, particularly regarding the situation in the Horn of Africa. They reiterated the importance of ongoing dialogue and consultation to achieve mutual objectives and promote stability and security in the region.
