Trucks carrying Egypt’s 125th humanitarian aid convoy departed Tuesday morning from the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing, heading toward the Gaza Strip as part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to provide relief to Palestinians amid the continuing humanitarian crisis.
According to Al-Qahera News, the convoy began moving from the Egyptian side of the crossing in preparation for its entry into Gaza, continuing the series of “Zad Al-Ezza” aid convoys supervised by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) since their launch in July 2025.
The latest convoy follows the dispatch of convoy No. 124 on Monday, which transported more than 7,060 tons of comprehensive humanitarian assistance. The shipment included over 4,500 tons of food baskets and flour, 1,400 tons of medical supplies and relief materials, around 160 tons of infant formula, and more than 1,000 tons of petroleum products to support urgent basic needs inside the enclave.
As part of Egypt’s response to winter conditions, the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) reinforced the aid shipments with extensive winter supplies, including more than 24,000 pieces of clothing and 28,000 blankets, in addition to hundreds of mattresses and fully equipped tents to shelter displaced families.
The “Zad Al-Ezza” initiative, launched on July 27 last year, has become a vital humanitarian lifeline through which thousands of tons of food, medical aid and fuel continue to flow. Operations at the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side have remained uninterrupted since the start of the crisis, according to ERC.
The ERC operates as a national mechanism for coordinating and organizing humanitarian assistance through its border logistics centers, relying on the efforts of approximately 65,000 volunteers. The organization has facilitated the entry of more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid into Gaza to date.
