Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed efforts to advance a ceasefire in Gaza and arrangements for governing the territory after the war during talks on Wednesday with Nickolay Mladenov, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said.
According to the ministry, Abdelatty called for completing the remaining elements of the first phase of the U.S.-backed Gaza plan, including the deployment of a National Committee for Gaza Administration (NCAG) drawn from within the territory, the establishment of an International Stabilization Force (ISF), and the accelerated delivery of humanitarian, medical and relief assistance.
Abdelatty said the measures were essential to consolidating the ceasefire, improving security conditions and creating the conditions necessary for early recovery and reconstruction efforts in the Palestinian enclave.
The discussions also addressed ongoing efforts to support stability in Gaza and alleviate the humanitarian crisis facing its population, the ministry said.
Egypt has been actively engaged in consultations with regional and international partners in recent months as part of broader diplomatic efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire, facilitate aid deliveries and advance plans for post-war governance and reconstruction in Gaza.
