Egypt's Depiction from Germany... Here’s War & There’s Paradise

Here in Germany, there is only talk about the Russian-Ukrainian war and its repercussions on Germany.

Prices are soaring every single day. For example, gasoline has crossed the 2 euro per liter for the first time.

Massive demonstrations are held in the streets to strongly denounce the Russian-Ukrainian war.

In his speech to the German federal parliament, Bundestag, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called the Russian invasion of Ukraine a “watershed in the history of our continent.”

Scholz also affirmed that Germany will supply Ukraine with weapons for the country’s defence, a step that marks a significant shift in Berlin’s foreign policy which was refusing to provide weapons to any party in conflict areas.

Here in Germany, I see deep fear in the people’s eyes when they mention the German army, which has been neglected for years. They are genuinely concerned about the return of conscription amid the ongoing war.

During my conversation with Daniela, a saleswoman in one of the largest stores, she said: “I am terrified. Explosions are heard on our borders and thousands of people are dying.” This is the full picture in Germany right now.

As for my beloved country, I witness President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's inauguration of the “Janna” project, which means paradise, in the 6th of October.

My son booked an apartment three years ago in the housing project which will become a major project just like the others, including, road axes and new cities.

I follow the president as he talks with Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ihab Al-Far, and he says: “Three transverse roads and 6 longitudinal axes west of the Nile were established to ease the citizen's movement."

My words are directed to the president; the Kerdasa area has a large population, and you solved this problem. Not only that, you improved the dwellings in Kerdasa, Nahia and Bulaq because you want the citizen to move freely and live safely in a healthy environment.

It is true that there was only the ring road but since you took over the country, projects of transverse axes, electricity, railways, and wastewater have witnessed an unprecedented shift. In addition, there are Suez Road and Ismailia Road inside Cairo, Alexandria and Ismailia. Around 50 thousand housing units are delivered today.

You want citizens to lead an integrated human life. You are working hard to bring prosperity inside these neighborhoods. You want all children to grow up and find a school, a social club, and a hospital next to them.

I express my heartfelt thanks to my great country, Egypt, while watching it thousands of miles from Europe in the line of fire!
